| What
is LIPU ? |
 |
The
LIPU is part of a world plan: our actions are part of
the global strategy of BirdLife International, a group
of beyond 100 associations that develop actions and plans
for the nature in each part of the world. |
| |
| The
LIPU, "Italian Society for the Protection of Birds" since
1965 is the most important Italian association for birds
and nature protection. It gathers beyond 50.000 partners
and donors who contribute with inscription's quotas to
all our plans.
|
Here
some of these:
- the"hospitals"
reinstate wounded birds to the wild life every year,
like the Birds of prey Rescue Centre of Parma and Verona;
the Sea and Lake Birds Rescue Centre of Leghorn; the
Wildlife Rescue Centre of Rome and Ficuzza.
- the
natural oases managed to protect the nature, where
everyone can observe the animals without disturb them
too.
- the
special plans for the study and the protection of
animals threatened of extinction, like the Griffon Vulture,
and for the reinstatement of species already extinct
in Italy like the White-headed Duck and the White Stork;
- rights
actions for safeguarding rare and threatened important
species, like the migrants on the "Narrow of Messina",
and for improving the legislations on the hunting and
on the parks;
- the
environmental education with interventions in
the schools, on the press, among the people and with
advices to the public corporate body to encourage the
knowledge and the respect of the nature.
